Knob Hill Farm

USDA Certified Organic

This grower has a photo album.

Knob Hill Farm is a Certified Organic farm located outside of Webster City, Iowa in Hamilton County. We raise Berkshire Cross pigs, a market produce garden, and about 25 free-range hens.
Mike and Janine moved to Knob Hill in 2013 and immediately began transforming it to meet our vision. First, we built fence to have a place for our team of Belgian cross horses – Betty and Freebie. Mike uses them to make hay, along with other work around the farm. Then Mike built our early 1900s-style hog buildings (with a few modern upgrades!). We also started transitioning the whole property to Organic. In 2016 we began selling USDA Certified Organic Berkshire-cross hogs. Mike also built a small hen house for our laying hens. In 2019 we converted 1/2 acre of pasture to a market garden where we raise a variety of vegetables. Along the way we added the best part… our 3 children. We adopted Carlie in 2015, Michael in 2016, and Oliver in 2019. Together, the 5 of us are enjoying raising food the way we believe it should be done.
